ICYE: International Congress for Young Egyptologists

The ICYE is a conference that is organised every three years, aiming to offer aspiring Egyptologists at the beginning of their career an opportunity to present and discuss their research. The last conference took place in Vienna in 2015 and the next conference will take place from 21-24 August 2019 in Leiden, the Netherlands.

Leiden University has a long history of teaching Egyptology as well as excavating in Egypt. It is one of the most important cities to study Egyptology in Europe, with the NINO-library containing the second largest collection of books on ancient Egypt in Europe. The Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden houses the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in the Netherlands, offering students plenty of opportunity to study the material they have. These circumstances offer the perfect opportunity for the organisation of the 6th International Congress for Young Egyptologists in Leiden.

The registration for the conference is open now! NB: there is no conference fee.
